The Narrators combine virtuosic performances with a genuine feel for the music and a love of the blues. Comprised of professional young musicians, they play a mixture of original material and modern blues; while they identify themselves as a blues band, they have many influences with elements of blues, blues rock, soul, funk and jazz heard in their performances.

Currently Touring

The Narrators are currently available to perform an evening of contemporary blues. This consists of two 1 hour long sets in which the band perform their modern take on powerful blues songs from the 1950’s to the present day. Ranging from artists such as BB King and Etta James to Led Zeppelin and Joe Bonamassa, the band try to cover the best of blues and R&B over the decades as well as well as performing their own original material.

The Narrators are also available to play shorter 30 minute, 45 minute, or 1 hour sets as well as two 45 minute slots depending on what is required.

Please contact regarding a fee for this evening, discounts for multiple bookings can be arranged.

Sarah Rees’ powerful vocals are complemented by Tim Bloomer’s fiery and soulful guitar, Katy Trigger’s funky bass, Paul Crown’s frenetic drumming, and Dominic Snaith’s swirling Hammond sound. They formed a little over a year ago and have recently released their first EP of original material, ‘The Statement’.

Since forming they have worked up a storm at venues such as the 2012 Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne and The Sage Gateshead. They have also enjoyed being repeatedly asked back to venues such as Blues at The Bay (Stockton), and Hoochie Coochie (Newcastle), the home of black music in the North East.

You can find them on Facebook and Twitter and their debut EP is available on band camp and itunes.
