Kitty Brewster Logo

We will scratch your back with the very best of Rock from the 60’s & 70’s including; Jimi Hendrix, Free, Spooky Tooth, Journey, Uriah Heep, Joe Satriani, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Kinks and many more.

Kitty Brewster was formed in July 2012, yet their musical careers go back many years to the mid sixties.
They are accomplished musicians who have worked in many different areas of music throughout their lives. From Jazz to Heavy Rock, these guys have played it all.
The band was formed initially just to have a jam with old friends practicing just once a week. Nothing serious. Just to keep their hand in, so to speak. After all, they had basically retired from being full time musicians many many years ago.
However, that all changed when they ‘re-discovered’ their talents and realised that; ‘hey, this is starting to work really well’ when they started to gel together and eventually built up a substancial set list of over 30 songs.

The old blood started to run fast through their veins once again.
Once a musician, Always a musician! That can’t be taken away from anyone in this game. It’s a gift to be thankful for and the repayment for that is to keep playing until you can’t!

Kitty Brewster’s style of music is based around classic 60’s/70’s Rock. The covers they play are from Jimi Hendrix, Free, Spooky Tooth, Joe Satriani, Uriah Heep, Gary Moore, Journey, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Kinks and even a wild rocked up version of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, plus many more classics from that era, all having that Kitty Brewster raw attack to them.
As a three piece band, they have to not only gel together but create a full sound;

Guitarist Ed, assists in that with his powerful chords and brilliant solo work. Ed has so much experience in this industry that it would take too long to mention. He completed a round the globe treck with his guitar, jamming wherever he could. What an experience that was!
He is influenced by the likes of rock legends, Hendrix and Joe Satriani and it certainly is reflected in his playing.

Bass Player Pete, is a singer/song writer and has many years experience in local bands and recording studios. His playing is solid and precise which is just what you need for this small set up. He’s very tall and he is also left handed. (not his fault really:))

Drummer Terry, has been a musician from the age of 9. First playing guitar in a ‘little’ band with his brother until the age of 17, then sold his guitar to buy a drum kit. “I discovered then that I was a better drummer than a guitarist, so it was an easy decision really”.
Terry’s drumming career started off with a jazz influence which led him to work with the Newcastle Big Band on a number of gigs and also alongside a few ‘names’ in the industry before they became famous. Sting and Alan Holdsworth are two that come to mind but probably there are a few more he may ‘just’ remember from those early days in the seventies. He has always had a passion for classic rock music and is now enjoying this new band immensely.

YOUNG AT HEART: “We aint no spring chickens but we still have the experience, ability and passion to continue with our music. That’s what keeps us young!”
